The Cantina Apartment
Cool tile floors and rustic furniture contribute to the
Old World ambience of the cantina apartment.
Below, steps leading from the cantina to the garden.

The Cantina Apartment
On the lowermost level of the house
is the
cantina, comprised of a
spacious living/dining area, full bath
and two bedrooms, each with a large
armoire for clothes storage.
Although connected to the Main
House by an outside stairway, it is
completely self-contained and
independent, yet enjoys the same
access to the dining pergola and
gardens.

One bedroom has a split queen bed,
which can be separated into two
beds. The other has a fixed European
queen, with orthopedic quality
mattresses. Each of the bedrooms
has a small, high window for fresh air
ventilation. The bedrooms in the
cantina do not have outside access,
making them particularly suitable
for children.

The living/dining area is furnished
with a rustic mahogany table with six
chairs, and an oversize antique
mahogany serving buffet. A settee
and two cushioned armchairs
complete the informal seating area.
A twenty-foot wall mural, depicting a
Mediterranean seascape, gives the
illusion of being on a oceanside
terrace.

The entrance to the
cantina is
through two oversize glass doors. A
custom-made wrought-iron security
gate, as well as a fully-fashioned
screened door, allows the glass doors
to be kept open during the day or
while sleeping.

The galley kitchen, tiled in
Mediterranean blue and turquoise, is
equipped with a gas cook top,
convection oven, sink and
refrigerator, and is stocked with
enough essentials to prepare light
meals or to serve as auxiliary
cooking space when preparing an
Italian feast for a crowd.

Servicing the
cantina is a fully-tiled
bathroom with bidet, wash basin,
toilet and glass door shower.

The
cantina apartment may be
reserved in conjunction with the
Main House, but cannot be rented
independently.
The spacious cantina dining area can
accommodate a large group for indoor dining.
